  3. No she is not in order in my opinion you need have a king in order to have a princess. so ha.

  4. isnt her dad like the leader of her tribe? so maybe they see it this way

  5. she can't be a princess. disney just choses to do what they want for little kids entertainment

  6. It is a personal opinion and I don't really have an opinion on this so my answer is I don't know.

  7. She can be considered a princess because she's the chief's daughter and the chief is basically a king to the native americans.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Pocahontas cannot be a princess, native Americans did not have princesses or kings and stuff like that

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sam you are wrong because princess' need to have a parent that is royalty

    ReplyDelete
  10. I don't consider her as a princes because in order to become a princes you father must be king and have a castle.

  11. i think princesses are in a state of mind according to a human. when a man marries a woman he can say this is my princess. well therefore the state of mind is made by john that she is a princess.

  12. @mrv43: yeah, but its their invention... so i think they can do with her whatever they want

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mrv43 i have to agree with you disney is full of themselves

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think she is a princess because her father is the leader of her tribe so she is pretty much a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  15. since they created her so she is in their eyes

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ jonathon i agree its only if there is a king

    ReplyDelete
  17. @josh: a husband calling his wife a princess is just a compliment

    ReplyDelete
  18. i have to say she is not a disney princess because she doesnt get treated like the other princesses do.

    ReplyDelete
  19. since she was a daughter of trive's head, I believe she can be.

  20. Shes not a princess but she can think that

    ReplyDelete
  21. Her father is the one in charge. He's the leader of his people, and so he's equivalent to a king. Pocahontas is his daughter, and a princess is a king's daughter. Therefore, I believe she is a princess.

  22. She is not a princess because her father is not a kking.

  23. Jonathan Schaeff. i totally agree.

  24. I do not know, I do not believe she should be called a Disney Princess. The title could just be the way they label their important female characters.

  25. She is most certainly a princess. Her father is the equivalent of a king in the native american culture they live in.
AJ and whoever he replied to-- DISNEY IS NOT FULL OF THEMSELVES!!!.
I'll agree with the fact that they did it for the kids benefit too.

  26. She is technically a princess because her father is the tribes cheif. A princess is just the title given to the daughter of a leader of some nation or tribe, hence Princess Pocahontas.
@gcgaspar: youre right. she created they chose.
    @random person: i agree!

  27. This question of the princess i have no idea how to answer. I dont think ive ever heard of this.

    ReplyDelete
  28. i dont really think she is a princess. i think disney just kinda figured they needed to put her in the princess category because they wouldnt know what else to call her.
    jonathon s - i agreee.
    kaylor - good point :)

  29. I dont think that pochahantas is a princess because all dads say that their daughters are princess' but that is just a lie to make then feel special.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i definitely agree with katy, her dad isnt a king, shes not a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. i like sam's argumant but i disagree, she's not a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Its a title. Does it really matter??

    ReplyDelete
  33. The definition of a princess is one who is the daughter of a king. Pocahontas is not, so she is not a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Personally i define princess as being born into royalty and just marrying into a family is not enough therefore no princess

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well whenever I watched Pocahontas I never viewed her as a princess so I'm gonna go with no.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No, I don't think that Pocahontas is a princess, she is the chiefs daughter, a position of honor but she is not the descendant of a king or queen.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes, she is a different version of a princess.
Disney was doing the whole diversity thing, and here they include the original American culture!

Although, brian lawler is correct and she is not technically a princess.
And Mrv43 is right, Disney does what they want, because they make the movies.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Though I don't think that she's a princess, I could care less if Disney calls her one. If they can make toys talk they can make Indian princesses.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I believe Pocahontas is a princess.

  41. This is a difficult question. By most princess standards, Pocohantes does not directly fit the criteria. She does not wear the big poofy dress or end up moving into the gigantic castle. Actually, no she is definately not a princess! Princesses start out at the bottom of their class and then rise to power in which they use they're long hair and beautiful smiles for good! Pocohantes' father was the chief (king)! She is simply and heiress not a princess! It all makes sense now!

  42. Carly
she could be considered a princes metaphorically but in all reallity she is not a princess

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree with Lubke i am neutral on this subject

    ReplyDelete
  44. Emily
In pocahontes 2 she does move into a castle so you have to rule that point out

    ReplyDelete
  45. If the chief is the same as a king, then yes, Pocahontas is a princess, but only under that condition.

    @ Emily
I don't think you understand what a princess is... at all.

    @ Carly
Just because they make the movie does not give them the right to screw with history.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Disney does whatever Disney wants, you dont screw with Mickey. Watch the Jonas Brothers South Park you'll know what im talking about. Since i dont feel like being mugged by some Disney goons i say "way to go Disney!" :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. @ AJ that was disrespectful
@Lubke How can you be neutral????

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think that walt disney died and they put his head ontop of a giant robot, he is kept alive today so he can eat small cuban children that are put into the "small world ride".

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't think so.
She doesn't really fit into the group with the other Disney Princesses.

    @Terry, Agreed.
@Joe, Still Toy Story is an amazing movie.

    ReplyDelete
  50. No i dont think she is because she lives in a buffalo tee pee and lives off her surrondings so she doesnt have people as her servants but she might have more respect than the other women in the tribe but no she isnt

    ReplyDelete
  51. she's totally a princess :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. She is totally a princess! That is so stupid! she is a freakin princess!

    ReplyDelete
  53. she doesnt wear all the fancy jewelery and shizzz,so she aint a princess

    ReplyDelete
  54. I believe she is. One year when i was pocahantas for halloween, me and my friends were all of the disney princesses, and if poco isnt a princess i was out of theme.

    ReplyDelete
  55. i dont think she's a princess, because her dad is a chief NOT a king. There is a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think she isn't. That doesn't count.

    @Jackson- I agree.
    @Jenna- Ya.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ Jenna Johnson
    hummmm...good point

    ReplyDelete
  58. No she is more of a Guide then a Princess

    ReplyDelete
  59. Her father is a leader he's like a king... so she might be a princess

    ReplyDelete
  60. im pretty neutral on the topic.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ Terry Kuca You've been watching been watching too much robot chicken.

    ReplyDelete
  62. she is a princess since she is one of the highest members in a her tribe

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think that Pocahontas is a princess even if her father is not a king. If he is a Chief or person in charge than she is considered a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  64. A Princess is not defined by who she is, but by her character and her heart...

Yes, Pocahontas is a princess, as in that the chief is the leaders, aka King, thus making her a Princess...but why does it matter?

  65. Frankie- your the man enof said

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think that pocohantas is not a political princess, but a "disney" princess. she is a princess of the disney corporation. such as cinderella or snow white.

i think that Joe Baka had the best answer. and also i think that terry kuca had a rather amazing answer.

    ReplyDelete
  67. She is sooo a princess!!!!Her father was a chief the highest power, the rule maker. Therefore she is a princess. He wears a chief headdress aka a crown she is a princess!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I also agree with Helen! No one will take my child hood away from me!

    ReplyDelete
  69. @tom_breske

agreed.... but why does it really matterwhy does it matter?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Pocahontas was the daughter of the highest cheif witch is the equivalent of a king. therefore she would be the equivalent of a princess. As pumba says "what's in a name" anyways. it's all just termanology.

@Emily i disagree with you. that is a very narrow deffinition of a princess and actually the majority of princesses are born into royalty. duh!

    @Random Person yup i agree!

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't exactly remember Pocahontas, honestly. So i can't really decipher if she is a princess or not.
@Emily - i think that your opinion is kind of biased. Just because she doesn't "look" like a princess doesn't mean she isn't one.
@Carly- i agree with the whole "diversity" onlook.

  73. If we've learned anything from Disney it's that every main character girl is a princess. Or a fairy.
